Breckenridge, or Breck, as it is called by the locals, is a fantastic destination to go play in the snow but still have the amenities afforded by being in a city. The town is known for its quaint, Victorian-era charm, and its fantastic ski slopes like the Tenmile Range. In town, you’ll enjoy delicious restaurants to refuel your body and even a brewery, if that’s your thing! When you’re done visiting this breathtaking destination, continue your travels to Denver or Vail, both are just a short drive away.
San Antonio, Texas
If you’re looking to escape the cold this year, try visiting the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. Here, the average December temperature is a balmy 64º! The Riverwalk decorations are one for the record book, but be sure to book the other attractions early as the great weather does make this a fantastic destination.
