The United States is full of beautiful places to visit, especially in the fall. From highways and scenic byways lined with gorgeous autumn foliage to stunning hikes that can be enjoyed at a cooler temperature, the fall is one of America’s favorite times for an adventure. However, if you’re looking for something new to try, or want an exceptional experience, Utah is arguably one of the best-kept secrets for vacation destinations. Whether you want to find the best place to go in an RV or you’re flying in, find out some of the best things to do in Utah in the fall:
Explore “The Mighty Five”
This could probably be a blog post in itself, and maybe we will write it one day! So what is “The Mighty Five”? Overall, Utah may be one of the most beautiful states in the country, but southern Utah definitely takes the cake! Southern Utah is home to not one but FIVE exceptional National Parks. While the Grand Canyon is still within driving distance and Yellowstone is gorgeous, these five parks are worth a day trip each, if you have the time. If you’re looking for the best things to do in Utah, be sure you drive, camp, hike, bike, or otherwise visit:
Zion
Bryce Canyon
Capitol Reef
Canyonlands
Arches
See the Leaves and Dinosaur Bones
One of our favorite things to do in Utah in the fall is to take a drive. The Energy Loop: Huntington and Eccles Canyons National Scenic Byway is a lesser-known drive that you don’t want to miss. If you’re lucky enough to catch it in late-September or October, you’ll enjoy the gorgeous autumn foliage that comes with the change of seasons. With elevations reaching around 10,000 feet, this memorable drive winds through the Wasatch Plateau. But, magnificent views aren’t all this drive offers! If you keep driving, you’ll find the Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, an active quarry that has recovered more than 12,000 dinosaur bones.
Enjoy Local Festivities
If there is one thing that Utah does right, it is its emphasis on having plenty to do! No matter what city you find yourself in, a major city nearby will likely have a fall festival, a corn maze, or a haunted ghost tour for you to enjoy during your trip! Check-in with newspapers or even on social media to find out what is happening in a town near you!
Travel in an RV
One of the best ways to experience Utah is with an RV. All of the parks listed as well as most public and private campgrounds accommodate RVs in Utah, although some are more upscale than others. Experience views you won’t ever see from a hotel room! If you’re in the market for a used RV for sale in Salt Lake City or the surrounding areas, Recreation RV Sales is here to help. For decades, we have been a family-run establishment. If you’re dreaming of an adventure, we are here to help!
